When Safety Programs Need Executive Buy-In

How we achieved 98% executive leadership support for a $5 million safety initiative.

A $5 million safety program needed to secure buy-in from management and executive leadership while being respectful of the originating division. One division managed the program but needed agency-wide support. We discovered the program needed to elevate to world-class status and move to executive leadership.

The safety program needed executive support to succeed but had to navigate organizational politics carefully.

We didn't come in with corporate mandates or top-down directives. Instead, we looked at what executives needed to understand and support. Our Gap Assessment revealed the need for knowledge transfer and demonstration of safety leader behaviors rather than just program information.

the approach:

Using our Business Alignment Model, we developed a six-hour professional safety training workshop for executive management, executive influencers, and safety influencer audiences. We aligned leadership around program commitment, strategy application, and barrier removal.

Developed 90-minute training program with third-party safety professional.
